Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate 50/250 inhalation powder
What Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate is used for :
- The combination Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate is used to treat symptoms of asthma and COPD.
- It should be used every day to prevent attacks of breathlessness and is not used to relieve sudden breathing problems.
- Do not use Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate
- If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.
- If you’re allergic to milk proteins.
Warnings and precautions :
Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:
- If you have heart problems.
- If you have high blood pressure.
- If you have seizures.
- If you have thyroid problems.
- If you have diabetes or have high blood sugar.
- If you have liver problems.
- If you have weak bones (osteoporosis).
- If you have an immune system problem.
- If you have eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts.
- If you have any type of viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infection.
- If are pregnant or plan to become pregnant or breast-feeding.
Possible Side Effects :
- Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Serious side effects:
- Lung infections
- Sudden breathing problems
- Reduced adrenal function
- Low levels of potassium in your blood
- Bone thinning or weakness (osteoporosis)
- Other medicines and Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
- Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate interacts with a lot of medicines including:
- Beta blockers such as Metoprolol used for blood pressure.
- Certain anti-fungals such as Ketoconazole, Itraconazole.
- Certain anti-virals used for HIV such as Ritonavir.
- Medicines to treat depression, mental disorders or Parkinson.
- Other corticosteroids.
- Certain diuretics.
- Certain other medicines used to treat asthma.
How to use Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate :
- Do not use in children younger than 4 years.
- Take as indicated by your doctor.
- Use this medicine by breathing it only.
- The usual recommended dose is one inhalation twice daily, morning and evening.
How to store Fluticasone Propionate / Salmeterol Xinafoate :
- Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
- The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
